"Plotted evil": why NATO builds up forces near the Russian borders

Strengthen the infrastructure, build personnel to conduct more exercises — NATO finally approved defence plans for the Baltic States and Poland in case of "aggression Moscow". The journalists said the Minister of foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius. The details are secret, but the Alliance clearly stepped up the military presence on Russian borders. On the recent unfriendly steps "Western partners" — in the material RIA Novosti.

Plan to protect Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia was developed at the request of those States in 2014, after the reunification of the Crimea with Russia. However, against final approval is made, the Turkey is unhappy that the Alliance partners refused to officially recognize the self-defense forces of Syrian Kurds terrorist groups. In early July, Ankara changed position and the document was accepted.

According to the head of the national security Bureau of Poland Pavlo Solokha, it is a merit of President Andrzej Duda, who convinced the head of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan to abandon the objection at the talks in London.

Many experts believe that in the approved plans is nothing new. It is there that the Alliance does. In the Baltic States and Poland improve its military infrastructure, build the base. So, at the end of June in the Estonian town of Tapa inaugurated a new support centre NATO.

Eleven modular buildings, and sites for tanks and other armored vehicles cost the budget of the Alliance of 20 million euros. Built a road for the tanks, on which, vehicles will be able to get directly into the Central polygon of the defence Forces bypassing the public highway.

“Now we have more opportunities to take our allies with armored vehicles,” — said at the opening of the center the chief of staff of the Estonian 1st brigade Antti Vilasta.

Similar centers will be built in all the Baltic States and in Poland, Bulgaria and Romania. This will reduce the time to deploy additional troops, and also to store there's a lot of military equipment. Given the proximity to the Russian border, these centres can become the springboard for an attack in case of a hypothetical conflict. Moscow no choice but to take new military facilities on the fly.

The potential target and the Estonian air base ämari. It is there, as it became known in late June, the United States will transfer from Poland reconnaissance and strike drones MQ-9 Reaper — along with the personnel and auxiliary equipment.

Stir up anti-Russian sentiments in Latvia. In late June, the war Department issued a booklet on how to act in a crisis situation. Citizens recommend just in case to have "alarming suitcase", which needs to be products with a long shelf life, copies of personal documents, radio a supply of batteries, a knife and water for three days.

After the invasion of the war Latvians should "evacuate the territory controlled by the national armed forces," "not to participate in illegal elections and referendums". The booklet claims that if Russia attacks NATO troops will reach Latvia and release it for only three days. Why do we need Moscow — is not explained.

While aggressiveness manifests exclusively NATO. At the end of June in Latvia was held large-scale exercises of the air force of the Alliance Rammstein Alloy. In them took part more than 20 aircraft of various purposes under the control of the joint Center of the air force of NATO in Germany. In the maneuvers practiced attacks on ground targets of a potential enemy in the conditions of strong counteraction of air defense. Meanwhile, Russia has repeatedly stated that it will not conduct military exercises on the Western borders at the time of the pandemic coronavirus.

Moscow back in may, invited to Brussels to do the same. However, the "Western partners" is ignored. In spring and summer, the Alliance staged a major military exercise clear anti-Russian orientation. So, July 4 in the North Atlantic has started a two-week Dynamic Mongoose maneuvers which NATO sailors learn to hunt for submarines of the conditional opponent. It is easy to guess what.

Undoubtedly, the main anti-Russian Outpost of NATO — Poland, constantly advocating for the build-up of foreign troops on its territory. In late June, President Andrzej Duda discussed with Donald trump in the us armored division. All the costs of its content — about one and a half — two billion dollars — Warsaw is ready to take on. The Polish leader has offered to name a new military base Fort Trump what is clearly flattered the American President.

“Of course, we are going to look at it not only from the point of view of the military implications for regional security, taking account of the legitimate interests of Russia and our allies, primarily Belarus, but also with the observance of fundamental provisions of the Founding act Russia — NATO, — said journalists the Deputy foreign Minister of Russia Alexander Grushko. — It includes the commitment of the Alliance to refrain from additional placement of substantial combat forces near Russia's borders”.

However, the Deputy Minister stressed that I will not be surprised if the United States would violate this international Treaty. He recalled that Washington consistently destroys all the foundations of military security in Europe, by withdrawing from the Treaty on intermediate-range and shorter-range, officially giving notice of withdrawal from the Treaty on open skies, and previously also disrupt the ratification of the agreement on adaptation of the CFE Treaty.

Even the pandemic coronavirus forced NATO to abandon aggressive intentions towards Russia. A demonstration of power, the construction of new military facilities, increase the number of troops on the borders — all of this contributes to a better understanding between Moscow and Brussels.
