Elections in the Riga Duma will be held August 29
The Central election Commission (CEC) on Tuesday announced that early elections in the Riga Duma will be held August 29, reported RIA Novosti the representative of the CEC.
Previously, the Saeima of Latvia dismissed the city Council, arguing that it is not able to perform his duties.
"Elections are declared subject to the law on the dissolution of the Riga city Council, which stipulates that elections must be declared on 7 July, and 29 August," - said the Agency interlocutor.
On election day, the stations will be open from 7.00 to 22.00 (same as GMT). To vote you can also pre-Wednesday, August 26, from 16.00 to 21.00, Thursday, August 27, from 9.00 to 16.00, and Friday, August 28, from 12.00 to 20.00.
Right to participate in elections are citizens of Latvia and the EU in the age of 18 who have registered in the administrative territory of Riga on 31 may of this year, or owning real estate in the administrative territory of the Latvian capital, the latter must be specifically registered to participate in the elections from 30 July to 15 August.
