The resorts of Bulgaria is not enough Russian tourists

Bulgarian resorts are asking the authorities to speed up the arrival of Russian tourists, according to ATOR.

In July, the country will have travelers from Germany, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Poland. However, the Bulgarian resorts are not enough Russians. The mayor of Burgas Dimitar Nikolov has prepared an appeal to the Bulgarian foreign Ministry with a request to abolish the mandatory 14-day quarantine for Russian citizens and facilitate procedures for their entry. He also sent a copy to the Ministry of health of the country.

The mayor explained to local media that more than 30 percent of guests travel to Burgas from non-European countries, so any restrictions on the arrival of these travelers and, in the first place, the Russians must be removed. According to him, otherwise, hoteliers intend to claim compensation for failure to accept tourists from these countries.

The Minister of tourism of Bulgaria Nikolina Angelkova stressed that the country is waiting for the revision by the authorities of the EU list of countries, citizens of which are suspended from 1 July.

According to her, Bulgaria in the long term expect a positive EU decision on the travel of tourists from Russia, Ukraine, Moldova and Israel.

Nikolina Angelkova said that Bulgaria will do everything possible to account for subsidizing Charter flights (€35 per person) to quickly restore the volume of traffic in season 2020 and extend it until the end of October.
