International experts assessed the voting on the amendments to Moscow
International experts from France, Ethiopia and Afghanistan, to carry out observation of voting for amendments to the Constitution in Moscow, stated that this procedure conforms to the standards and adhered to strict sanitary measures.
Voting on amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation took place from 25 June to 1 July. After processing 100% of protocols, the total turnout of voters amounted to 67,97%. For acceptance of amendments have voted 77,92% (almost 58 million Russians), against of 21.27% (about 16 million). They entered into force on 4 July.
"Based on our expert and Supervisory mission, we can say that witnessed the voting procedures, which complied with the regulations in force in our respective countries, and let the citizen be free to fulfill their civic duty", - is spoken in the report of the international experts who observed the voting process at the invitation of OP Moscow at the disposal of the Agency.
According to experts, the fact that the vote from 25 June to 1 July all the media that were present at most polling stations were filming and interviewed citizens, in particular, is an indicator of the transparency of voting, the need for which was noted the CEC.
They also noted that despite the fact that electronic voting and voting at home allow most people to fulfill their civic duty, nevertheless a large number of them visited the polling stations are located in old buildings where disabled people and disabled groups face difficulties in gaining access to them, therefore it is recommended in the future to improve the infrastructure and to create an accessible environment for these entities.
