In Crimea, evaluated the application of Ukraine about the bridge across the Kerch Strait
Head of the working group on international legal Affairs to the permanent representative of Crimea under the RF President Alexander Moloch called absurd and meaningless desire of the Kiev authorities to achieve through the international Tribunal for the law of the sea recognition of the illegal construction of Crimean bridge.
Earlier, first Deputy foreign Minister of Ukraine of Emine dzhaparova said the Ukrainian media that the Ukrainian side intends to appeal to the international Tribunal for the law of the sea to consider the question of legality of construction of a bridge across the Kerch Strait and its future work. Dzhaparova said that the bridge was built in defiance of the UN Convention on the law of the sea 1982, without the consent of Ukraine as coastal States and environmental assessment.
"The initiation of Ukraine's international investigation regarding the construction of Crimean bridge is absurd and nonsense. The construction was carried out in the territorial waters of Russia, therefore, no coordination with other States is not required. In short, I want to cry after a classic "Mixed up in a bunch of horses, people..." I sometimes think that in his animal hatred for the Crimeans that the audience is ready to gnaw themselves the support of the Crimean bridge, but the eye sees, but the tooth is itching," said RIA Novosti Moloch.
According to him, the construction of the bridge was preceded by a comprehensive impact assessment, available to the public and in the media, which, if desired, the Ukrainian side could see.
"There is no position of Ukraine and other countries will not affect the work of the Crimean bridge, linking the Peninsula with the mainland of Russia for centuries", - said Moloch.
A bridge to the Crimea from the Krasnodar region - the longest in Russia and Europe, its length is 19 kilometers. Road part of the bridge opened in may 2018. Passenger rail service over the bridge was opened in December 2019 and 30 June 2020, freight rail.
