Ukraine has turned into a "banana Republic", said former Prime Minister Azarov
Ukraine has finally turned into a "banana Republic", as it is this fruit is now the cheapest in the country, said former Prime Minister Mykola Azarov on Monday.
"Ukraine has finally turned into a banana Republic. The promise about the agricultural power came down to the fact that the most affordable fruit is the banana. The average retail price for bananas in Kyiv on 30 June – 1 July was 27.2 hryvnia per kilogram (about $ 1 – ed.)", - wrote Azarov on his page in Facebook.
Thus, according to the former Prime Minister, a banana is cheaper in Ukraine than watermelon and Apple. "I opravdalis!" - stated Azarov.
Earlier, the Chairman of political Council of party "Oppositional platform For life" Viktor Medvedchuk warned that the fall in capital investments in agrarian sector of Ukraine can have serious negative consequences for agriculture and food security in the country.
