In the foreign Ministry told about the possible participation of Mongolia to the CSTO

Mongolia looks positively to the invitation to join the activities of the CSTO, said the Director of the first Department of Asian Affairs of Russia Georgy Zinoviev.

The CSTO includes Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.

“Mongolia, I would like to note, invited to connect to the CSTO, which, perhaps, is such an important priority from the point of view of interests of the Russian Federation. And Mongolia that invitation positively considered, it resonates with the country's leadership,” said Zinoviev in the Federation Council.

According to him, Mongolia has also increased interest in the SCO after the accession of India and Pakistan.

As noted, Zinoviev, and also starts the negotiation process between Mongolia and the Eurasian economic Commission.

The SCO is an international organization founded in 2001 by the leaders of China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. At the SCO summit in the capital of Kazakhstan 9 June 2017, the leaders of member States of SCO signed the decision on the admission of India and Pakistan into the organization.
