The President of the United States Donald trump in the background of demolition of monuments to confederates in the country announced that it will issue a decree on the establishment of the Park with sculptures of national heroes.
"I declare the creation of a new monument to the giants of our past. I will sign the decree about creation of national garden of American heroes – large Park under the open sky, in which statues of the greatest Americans who ever lived," said trump, speaking at the memorial on mount Rushmore in South Dakota.
The President did not specify where and when will be created a Park.
The demolition of monuments to confederates ("southerners"), who during the Civil war in the United States advocated the preservation of slavery, as well as some other politicians of the past began amid protests on racial grounds after the death of the African-American George Floyd at the hands of police in Minneapolis in may of this year.
The President's visit to South Dakota dedicated to the US independence Day celebrated on July 4th. Broadcast performances led by American television.
Memorial on mount Rushmore is a granite carved in bas-relief with a height of 18.6 meters, with the portraits of four American presidents: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln. The memorial was created in 1927-41 years under the direction of sculptor Gutzon of Borglum and dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the founding of the United States.
