Source: "Armata" tested in an unmanned mode

Tank on heavy tracked platform "Armata" in the pre-test worked without crew, told RIA Novosti source in the military-industrial complex.

In 2016, the former head of the main armored Directorate Ministry of defense Oleksandr Shevchenko said in an interview with RIA Novosti that the unmanned robotic version of the latest tank T-14 "Armata" will be created in 2018. According to him, the uniqueness of the new machines is the presence of an open digital architecture, which has created a "concrete framework for robotics armored vehicles".

The forum "Army-2018", the Russian defense Ministry signed a contract on the purchase of "Uralvagonzavod" 132 combat vehicles T-14 and T-15 on the platform "Armata". As previously reported by the Deputy defense Minister Alexei Krivoruchko, the whole contract will be completed before the end of 2021.

T-14 - the world's third postwar generation tank. "Armata" is designed for combat in close contact with the enemy, support offensive infantry units, fortifications, enemy personnel located in shelters and in the open countryside.
