Business opposed the amalgamation project AI with "Digital technology"

The proposal of the Ministry of communications of the Russian Federation for the unification of Federal projects of "Artificial intelligence" and "Digital technology" could lead to the reduction of the budget project AI, and to prevent the development of artificial intelligence in Russia, according to minutes of the meeting of the relevant working group ANO "Digital economy", which is available to RIA Novosti.

The working group meeting was held on 5 June, the Protocol was prepared on 9 June. The meeting discussed the proposal of the Ministry to join the project of "Artificial intelligence" with the project "Digital technologies". The initiative of the Department is lack of the specialized nature of the proposed measures to support the development of technologies of AI, with significant sequestration budget netprogrammes and other causes.

According to the document, a number of members of the working group opposed the initiative of the Ministry of communications. "In the final I would like to remove the mention of the joint project, as in this format the objectives of the project are lost", is given in the Protocol, the comment of the Director on interaction with government agencies "ABBYY Russia" Olga Minaevoy.

"The combination of vodproekt "Digital technology" and "Artificial intelligence" was not supported. The development of artificial intelligence requires a wider range of tools than includes vodproekt "Digital technologies". This is due to the large number of tasks on development of artificial intelligence and identified by the national strategy for the development of AI, approved by the decree of the President of the Russian Federation", - told RIA Novosti Deputy General Director, Director for direction of "Digital technology" ANO "Digital economy" Sergey Nakvasin.
