In the Kuzbass 87% of voters supported the amendments to the Constitution
More than 87% of voters in the region voted in favour of amendments to the Constitution, opposed by more than 12%, reported RIA Novosti Deputy Chairman of the electoral Commission of Kuzbass Anastasia Suslova.
"Kemerovo region prior to the day of nationwide voting regarding approval of amendments to the Constitution entered into the five of regions-leaders on attendance and took second place among regions of Siberia. In the Kuzbass in only four days voted over 1,062 million people out of nearly 2 million voters, more than 50% ... change in the Constitution - it is a historical event, of course, important for Russia, its regions, and Russians. To Express their will on the amendments is the duty of every citizen. Kuzbassovtsy have made their choice", – told reporters the member of the Federation Council from the Kemerovo region, the Secretary of the Kuzbass regional branch of the party" United Russia" Alexey Sinitsyn.
A nationwide vote on amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation was scheduled for 22 April, but then postponed because of the epidemic of coronavirus in the country. Later, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on a new date for voting on 1 July. Because of the need to take into account the epidemiological situation and the security of the population, it was decided that the Russians will be able to vote all week from 25 June to 1 July.
