In Kalmykia, a constitutional amendment approved by 84% of voters

Kalmykia has processed 100% of protocols of precinct election commissions, the amendments to the Constitution voted by 84% of voters, reported RIA Novosti the Chairman of the electoral Commission of the region Alexander Dikalov.

"In Kalmykia processed 100% of protocols, the amendment was voted 84,02% against – 14,95%", - he said.

According to him, the turnout in the region amounted to about 73%. According to the electoral Commission of the region, voter turnout in the elections of the President of Russia in Kalmykia in 2018 amounted to 69.85 mm%.

A nationwide vote on amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation was scheduled for 22 April, but then postponed because of the epidemic of coronavirus in the country. Later, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on a new date for voting on 1 July. Because of the need to take into account the epidemiological situation and the security of the population, it was decided that the Russians will be able to vote all week from 25 June to 1 July.
