Poroshenko refused to testify in the state Bureau of investigation
The ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko refused to receive the summons and to give evidence to the state Bureau of investigation (UIR), the Agency "UKRINFORM" with reference to the press service of the Ministry.
The former head of state visited on Wednesday, the state Bureau of investigation, where he was scheduled to questioning in the case of appointment of members of the High Council of justice.
"Poroshenko refused to testify. He also in the presence of witnesses refused to receive subpoenas in the next interrogation, " - said interlocutor Agency.
The representative of the press service added that Poroshenko presented a request for extension of pre-trial investigation in the case of the appointment of Sergei Semochko first Deputy head of the foreign intelligence Service.
Earlier, Poroshenko lawyer Igor Golovan wrote in his blog in the edition "Ukrainian truth" that his client was summoned for questioning in the case "because of possible seizure of state power and non-judgment in conducting competitive selection of candidates for appointment by the President of Ukraine members of the High Council of justice and appointment of members of the High Council of justice".
In Ukraine excited a number of criminal cases involving Poroshenko. According to the public Prosecutor Irina Venediktova, 17 cases filed by its predecessor Ruslan riaboshapka, four more were excited by it. Poroshenko became a suspect in one of criminal cases. According to him, Ukraine in relation to it brought 24 cases.
