About 70% of voters in the Belgorod region voted on the amendments
About 70% of voters in the Belgorod region to 12.00 Moscow time have voted on the amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation, informs regional election Committee.
According to the election Committee, the turnout of more than 70% occurs in Belgorod, Volokonovsky, Korochanskiy, Krasnogvardeisky, Prokhorovka, Roven areas, valuyskiy, Graivoronsky and Yakovlevskaya urban districts.
The turnout in the Russian presidential election in 2018, in the region of 12.00 was 28.92%. In the elections of deputies of the state Duma in 2016 12.00 voted 24,48% of voters.
A nationwide vote on amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation was scheduled for 22 April, but then postponed because of the epidemic of coronavirus in the country. Later, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on a new date for voting on 1 July. Because of the need to take into account the epidemiological situation and the security of the population, it was decided that the Russians will be able to vote all week from 25 June to 1 July.
