In the NPC estimated the national security law on Hong Kong
The national security law of Hong Kong is not directed against "an imaginary enemy" in the form of the Pro-democracy camp, said at the briefing the Chairman of the working Committee for legislative Affairs of the standing Committee of vsekitajsky meeting of national representatives of Shen Chunyao.
The standing Committee of vsekitajsky meeting of national representatives on 30 June approved a law on national security in Hong Kong, it entered into force on the same day. PC NPC also decided to include the law in Annex III of the Basic law of the special administrative region of Hong Kong. The bill rules related to the prevention, suppression and punishment committed in Hong Kong for four types of crimes, including separatist activities, attempts of Subversion of state power, terrorist activities, conspiracy with foreign States, or abroad, with the aim to compromise national security.
The law caused dissatisfaction of the opposition and Pro-democracy forces in Hong Kong and some Western officials who see it as a desire by Beijing to tighten control over the autonomy. China has on many occasions directly accused the United States of inciting protests and anti-Chinese activities in Hong Kong. That is last year's mass protests are largely the trigger of the adopted law.
He stressed that Hong Kong's population is very diverse, as well as the political landscape, the various political parties, including people with different political views will exist in Hong Kong, but they should not undermine the national security of the country.
He added that the Chinese government fully implements the principle of "one country, two systems", which is a manifestation of tolerance.
"We have a socialist system and we understand that the capitalist system has its own policy rules, but there is always the red line, basic principle, which should not be violated. It is applied in any society," - concluded the official.
