In Yakutia more than 40% of voters have already voted on the amendments
More than 40% of the electorate voted in Yakutia for amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation to 10.30 am (4.30 MSK) environment, said Deputy Chairman of the regional CEC Alexander Vlasov.
Taking into account those who have already voted early, with 25 to 30 June, the turnout at 10.30 am local time in Yakutia amounted to almost half of the voters.
"As of 10.30 on the Yakut time, turnout at polling stations was 41%," - said Vlasov.
A nationwide vote on amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation was scheduled for 22 April, but then postponed because of the epidemic of coronavirus in the country. Later, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on a new date for voting on 1 July. Because of the need to take into account the epidemiological situation and the security of the population, it was decided that the Russians will be able to vote all week from 25 June to 1 July.
