Nearly 68% of voters in Chukotka, according to 12.00 am (03.00 GMT), took part in the voting on the amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation, told RIA Novosti the representative of the electoral Commission of the region.

On Wednesday in Russia came the last day of voting on amendments to the Constitution. In Chukotka 55 polling stations, including five in Anadyr. In total, the region was 33 194 voters, more than half of them voted from 25 to 30 June. In the early voting in remote areas have involved more than 1,7 thousand persons.

A nationwide vote on amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation was scheduled for 22 April, but then postponed because of the epidemic of coronavirus in the country. Later, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on a new date for voting on 1 July. Because of the need to take into account the epidemiological situation and the security of the population, it was decided that the Russians will be able to vote all week from 25 June to 1 July.
