In Kamchatka, turnout in the vote in nine of the 11 districts exceeded 50%
Turnout in the vote on the amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation in nine districts of Kamchatka exceeded 50%, told RIA Novosti the regional election Commission.
It is noted that more than half of the total number of voters have already voted in the Aleutians, Bystrinsky, Milkovsky, Sobolewska, Ust-Kamchatsk, karasinska, Olyutorsky, Penzhina and Tigilskiy districts.
The electoral Commission noted that the least active voting takes place in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, according to on 12.00 on the Kamchatka time (03.00 GMT), the polls called for a little less than 29% of the residents. Overall, turnout in the nationwide referendum on the issue of approval of amendments to the Constitution in Kamchatka Krai now is 36,69% or almost 90 thousand people.
On Wednesday in Russia came the last day of voting on amendments to the Constitution. Opened on Kamchatka 292 polling station 105, located on ships at sea and 187 on the ground. Only on the territory of the region was about 240 thousand voters.
A nationwide vote on amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation was scheduled for 22 April, but then postponed because of the epidemic of coronavirus in the country. Later, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on a new date for voting on 1 July. Because of the need to take into account the epidemiological situation and the security of the population, it was decided that the Russians will be able to vote all week from 25 June to 1 July.
