Volodin called amendments to the Constitution of a new stage in the development of Russia

Voted on the amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation is a new stage in the development of Russia, which is based on the social standards of legal and sovereign state, according to the Chairman of the state Duma Vyacheslav Volodin.

"This is a new stage in the development of our state, where higher standards of living, where higher obligations to citizens, where we cemented our values, protecting them, we do not allow anyone to encroach on them, but of course it is extremely important to emphasize that we not only protect our sovereignty, but do not allow the adoption of these amendments to encroach at least a piece of it," said Volodin in the First channel.

He noted that we are talking about a new quality of power, institutions which are filled with new content.

Responding to a question about whether put to the vote the amendments to be regarded as summing up the features under complex 1990-ies, Volodin noted that this feature was announced when the President was elected, Vladimir Putin and the state took on irresponsibility, "when were not paid salaries and pensions, when laws were adopted and not enforced, when we could lose the state."

"Now we're talking about a new stage of development, which is based on the new standards - standards of the legal social state, sovereign state, state, where they honor their traditions, values, where protecting its history, where the priority attention to children, the family, of course, is a new stage of development", - said the speaker of the house.

The situation with the pandemic coronavirus, according to Volodina, did not affect the interest of Russians to the amendments, including the fact that many changes have demonstrated its relevance. He noted that the text of the amendments is published on the website of the state Duma, was attended by nearly 7 million people, despite the "pandemic and the problems that appeared at each person in connection with the challenges associated with coronavirus infection."

"Once again I want to emphasize that the situation of coronavirus has not diminished the interest in the amendments to the Constitution, here's why. We are talking about the fact that many amendments have confirmed its relevance, especially in this difficult situation. We are talking about the availability and quality of health care,... we are talking about social standards", - said the speaker of the state Duma.

Voting on amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation began across the country on June 25, it will last until 1 July. Online voting, which can only participate residents of Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod region, was held from 25 to 30 June.
