The expert called to talk about data security in electronic elections

The legal basis for future electronic voice is not in doubt, however, to conduct large-scale elections should talk about ways to account for and secure the data, told RIA Novosti lawyer Alexey Aksenov.

Voting on amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation began across the country on June 25, it will last until 1 July. In online voting, which takes place from 25 to 30 June, can take part residents of the two pilot regions - Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod region. According to staff, on Monday afternoon in Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod region took part in the electronic voting of more than 1 million 12 thousand people. Only electronic voting was registered 1 190 726.

"The legal basis for the future implementation of electronic voting in our country is, the rules of this vote was approved by the CEC, it uses resources such as public Services, which are familiar to the citizens and have already earned them some credibility. From a legal point of view, declared that such a vote fully reflects the will of the citizen is indistinguishable from the election, however, questions remain, and they need to talk," - said the Agency interlocutor.

According to Aksenov, citizens need popular to talk about the controls over the electronic vote.

"You must popularly tell how these voices are recorded, as the voice turns into a kilobit of information, in which system goes. The most important thing – privacy. Need to clarify how to ensure the secrecy of voting, if you register or login you can use your personal data. In the end, even large companies faced with the fact that their databases are "leaked" to the network, and what measures are being taken, that does not happen with electronic voting? When the answers to these questions will be known to the bulk of Russians, then we will think about the spread of the practice of voting via the Internet," he concluded.
