Russia has prolonged until the end of the year duty-free import of some Moldovan products

Russia extended for another six months, until December 31, 2020, duty-free import of certain goods from Moldova, including fruit, vegetables and wine, according to the ruling of the Russian government.

As follows from the document published on the official portal of legal information, it is about the application of zero duties on vegetables, fresh fruits and berries, canned vegetables and wine. Separately, the resolution marked the introduction of zero import customs duties in respect of sunflower seeds (for the period up to 31 December 2020).

Last week, the President of Moldova Igor Dodon has informed that Russia has agreed to extend duty-free deliveries of Moldovan goods after 30 June of the current year. According to him, this measure will allow producers from Russia to save at least 20-25 million euros per year.

Russia from January 1, 2019 for six months he abolished duties on the import of certain goods from Moldova, subsequently, the effect of this provision has been extended several times.
