Schroeder will participate in the hearings on the "Nord stream — 2" in the Bundestag

The former Chancellor of Germany, Chairman of the Board of Directors of "Rosneft" and the head of Committee of shareholders of Nord Stream AG Gerhard Schroeder will take part in the open hearings of the Committee on economy and energy of the Bundestag, dedicated to the "Nord stream 2" and the energy sovereignty of Europe and Germany.

The theme of the hearings is declared as "the sovereignty of the German and European decisions in the energy policy (and the thread 2)". The meeting will be devoted to discussion of the upcoming U.S. new sanctions against the pipeline - this is dedicated to the reports of experts who will speak at the hearings.

The hearings will be held at the Home of Paul Leba - auxiliary building of the Bundestag on the banks of the spree in Central Berlin. They will start at 9.00 am (10.00 GMT) and will last two hours.

As explained by RIA Novosti in the office of Schroeder, ex-Chancellor would not make a report, as stated in the announcement of the Committee, but will answer questions if they are asked of him. A separate interaction with the press are planned.

"Nord stream 2" involves the construction of two pipelines with a total capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas off the coast of Russia through the Baltic sea to Germany.
