The Ministry of foreign Affairs called the condition of Russia's participation in election observation in the United States

Office for democratic institutions and human rights (ODIHR) of the OSCE talks about the direction of a restricted group of observers for the elections of the President of the United States on 3 November, the question of participation of Russia in it will be associated with the receiving of the invitation to ODIHR to observe the elections and in what format, said in an interview with RIA Novosti Ambassador for special assignments of the Russian foreign Ministry Vladimir Churov.

"Office for democratic institutions and human rights (ODIHR) of the OSCE talks about the direction of a restricted group of observers for the elections of the President of the United States. By the way, passed the primaries, the Republican and Democratic parties, is expected in August, the national Congress is an important stage of the election campaign and, finally, November 3rd is to vote in the election of the President of the United States," - said Churov.

However, he noted that the results of the ODIHR talks with Washington about the possible direction of the U.S. elections international observation mission is still unknown.

"This question will be linked to those obtaining in the OSCE / ODIHR's invitation, in what format, in what quantity," - said the diplomat in response to the question of whether Russia is ready to participate if it is decided to send to the U.S. presidential election international observers.

According to him, this will be a limited mission, including geographically.

"And you will need to consider the movement, because direct flights are almost there, only special flights. Many questions arise in connection with the institution of international observation. To some extent this can be done remotely, to some extent, this can be done explicitly. But, of course, the main focus is on domestic observers," - said the Agency interlocutor.

The United States presidential election will be held on 3 November 2020.
