In Iran sentenced to death the head of media for the assistance of foreign intelligence services

Iranian authorities have sentenced to death the head of the news portal, receiving assistance from foreign intelligence agencies, said the official representative of the judiciary of the country gholamhosein Esmaeili.

According to the Agency Tasnim, the sentence currently inconclusive, the accused can appeal.

In mid-October 2019 the Islamic revolutionary guard Corps (IRGC, part of the armed forces of Iran) reported about the arrest of head of the news portal "Amad news" Ruhollah Deputy. According to open sources, the Deputy was actively covered the protests Dec 2017 – Jan 2018 throughout Iran.

The Deputy, as pointed out by news Agency IRNA, was arrested for "anti-revolutionary activities". It was reported that his actions had sent intelligence of France, he also received support from the intelligence services of the United States and Israel.

The associated Press reported that the Deputy lived in exile in Paris. It does not specify how he was detained and where.
