The tourist base in the Irkutsk region will open July 3, said in an interview with RIA Novosti acting Governor of the region Igor Kobzev.
The beginning of the tourist season in the Irkutsk region was postponed because of the pandemic coronavirus. Since most of the tourists coming to lake Baikal, are citizens of China, South Korea and Germany, in the region this year is expected to decline in tourist arrivals.
"It is hoped that part of the loss will be offset by domestic tourism. The work of camp sites and patios are scheduled to resume on 3 July," said Kobzev.
He also noted that the owners of the tourist industry has a special responsibility in the security of the summer holidays.
