Ex-President of Kyrgyzstan Atambayev was transferred from prison to hospital
Ex-President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev transferred from the detention facility of state Committee of national Security (SCNS) in the hospital diagnosed with "community acquired pneumonia", told RIA Novosti on Tuesday the press service of the state Committee.
It is reported that on June 29 Atambayev complained on poor health, in connection with which he had taken PCR tests for COVID-19. But the test was negative.
As explained in the state Committee in jail SCNS is operating normally. Checking for COVID-19 were all employees of SCNS detention center, including the symptoms of coronavirus infection have not been identified.
The leader of the largest parliamentary party of the social Democrats of Kyrgyzstan Atambayev handed over power to his successor and the closest collaborator Sooronbay Jeenbekov in 2017 after the presidential elections. However, soon thereafter, the team members of the former President was prosecuted. Atambayev was deprived of the status of ex-President accused of committing grave and especially grave crimes. The former President has repeatedly stated that all charges in his address and his associates are political in nature.
