The first production of strategic nuclear submarine (NPS) of the improved project 955A "Borey" - "Prince Oleg" - it is planned to transfer the Navy (Navy) in December 2020, told RIA Novosti on Monday the head of the United shipbuilding Corporation (USC) Alexey Rakhmanov.
On the eve of Severodvinsk (the plant "Sevmash") was signed the act of acceptance-transmission of the Russian Navy, the lead ship of this project submarine "Prince Vladimir".
The "fifth "Borey" "Prince Oleg" we plan to deliver the fleet this year, think it will be December," - said Rakhmanov.
Submarine "Knyaz Oleg" will become the first serial ship of the project 955A - "Borey" nuclear submarine of the fourth generation. From submarines of the project 955 is it different hull shape, reduced noise and better handling. Submarine is equipped with a set of Intercontinental ballistic missiles "Bulava" and the modern mine and torpedo weapons.
It is planned to build 10 submarines of class "Borey" project 955 and 955A for the Russian Navy.
Head submarine project 955 "Yury Dolgoruky" is the battle of the Northern fleet in 2013. The other two, "Alexander Nevsky" and "Vladimir Monomakh", serving in the Pacific fleet in 2014. The nuclear submarine "Prince Vladimir" delivered to the Navy on may 29. At the stage of completion is the fifth submarine "Prince Oleg".
