In Ukraine connected to the network, the sixth unit of Zaporizhzhya NPP

The sixth unit Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant in Ukraine was taken out of reserve and connected to the grid, said Sunday a press-service of the company Energoatom.

Earlier, on 3 June, Energoatom announced the shutdown of the sixth unit of Zaporizhzhya NPP from power grid.

"Unit №6 of Zaporizhzhya NPP is derived from the reserve and connect to the grid. At this point in the work are of unit 3 Zaporizhzhya NPP. At power unit No. 4 is the 59th day of a planned overhaul at unit 5 – 74-th day of scheduled medium maintenance unit №1 is in reserve," - said in a statement on the website of the company.

It is noted that comments on the operation of the main equipment of operating power units and staff there.

The radiation background in the area of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant and in the sanitary-protective zone is compliant with regulations.

Zaporizhzhya NPP - the largest energy facility in Ukraine and Europe with an installed capacity of 6000 MW. The first unit was commissioned in 1984, second in 1985, third in 1986, fourth in 1987 and fifth in 1989 and the sixth in 1995.

Previously, the largest private investor in the energy sector of Ukraine DTEK announced the withdrawal in a simple from April 20, the coal-mining company "Pavlogradugol", which is composed of the ten mines because of the "systemic crisis in the energy sector of Ukraine", which arose in connection with the lack of demand for Ukrainian electricity. Before it stopped mine DTEK Dobropolyeugol, "Belozerskaya" and the Central concentrating factory "October" for the same reason.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine under chairmanship of the Prime Minister created the anti-crisis energy headquarters. At the same time acting head of the Ministry of energy and coal industry Olga Bukovec stated that Ukraine is experiencing one of the largest in the history of the country's energy crises, the output of which is a matter of national security.
