Crimea will not ask Zelensky to resume the supply of water, said Feldman

Crimea is not going to appeal to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky with a request for resumption of supply of water through the channel to the Peninsula, said the head of the Crimea Sergey Aksenov.

"In addition Zelensky no one in Ukraine such a decision (about the flow of water through the channel – ed.) can not accept, everything else is just talk about anything Legally possible to take a pen and sign a document about the supply of water to the Republic of Crimea he has. But we about it do not ask we do not apply. We live without them", - said Aksenov in an interview with TV channel "Russia 24".

He said that for water supply of Simferopol, where at this season there is the most difficult situation already constructed two lines of water and started the flow of water from artesian wells in the Bakhchisarai district of Crimea. The volume of thrown water reaches 55 to 57 thousand cubic meters per day (the consumption of about 160 thousand per day). Thus, the load on the shallow reservoir will decrease, said the head of the region. Restricted water supply in Simferopol have not yet been introduced.

In the Ukrainian period to Crimea every year, the channel was fed over one billion cubic meters of water, of which about 150 million cubic meters for domestic purposes, 700 million cubic meters for irrigation, said earlier the head of the Republic.

Earlier, Ukraine provided to 85% of needs of the Crimea in fresh water coming from the Dnieper through North Crimean canal. However, after the reunification of the Crimea with Russia water flow through the channel in the Republic was completely stopped unilaterally. The question of water supply was solved at the expense reservoirs of natural filling, which over the past year significantly obmelel due to the small amount of precipitation, but also by drilling wells and extraction of water from underground sources.
