The election Commission of the Vologda region revealed the fact of double voting according to the Constitution, police checks, said on Saturday the election Committee.

"In this case, the Ministry of internal Affairs of Russia on the Vologda region is checked," - said the electoral Commission of the region.

According to the administrative code, receiving in the election Commission of ballots for voting more than once in the course of one and the same vote in the absence of grounds for bringing to criminal liability punishable by a fine in the amount of 30 thousand rubles.

All attempts at double voting will be immediately stopped", - said the Chairman of the regional electoral Commission Denis Zaitsev, whose words are reported.

A nationwide vote on amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation was scheduled for 22 April, but then postponed because of the epidemic of coronavirus in the country. Later, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on a new date for voting on 1 July. Because of the need to take into account the epidemiological situation and the security of the population, it was decided that the Russians will be able to vote from 25 June to 1 July.
