The protection of Victor Filinkova, who was convicted in the St. Petersburg case is recognized as a terrorist organization "Network"* has filed an appeal against the judgment of 22 June 2020, said his lawyers Vitaly Cherkasov and Eugene Kulakov.

According to them, June 22, were announced only introductory and operative part of the judgment, without the reasoning part. Defenders note that the text of the verdict to date is not granted, the court was not explained the timing of its provision. While the Criminal procedure code obliges lawyers to appeal within 10 days from the day of sentencing.
"Immediately after the meeting, we filed the petition for granting to us as a copy of the judgment and court records. After reading them, we will prepare a well-reasoned additions to sent the complaint today," added the lawyers.
In addition, according to defenders, he Filinkov will also send the appeal after receiving the sentence, as required by the criminal procedure code.

Filinkov strongly denied the charges, claimed that during the arrest he was under pressure to get a confession. The court called on the testimony of four employees of the FSB, was interrogated by two people, and one of them said that Filinkov testified voluntarily.
The Volga district military court held a hearing in Penza on 10 February sentenced seven members of "the Network"* to the deprivation of liberty for terms of between six and 18 years in the colonies General and strict modes. It is noted that members of structural divisions "Network"* in the were residents of the Penza region Vasily Kuksov, Andrey Chernov, Mikhail Kulkov, max Ivankin and a resident of St. Petersburg Arman sagimbaev. The judges found that in 2015-2017 participants in the "Network"* has mastered the skills of combat training conducted in the abandoned camps and tourist bases in the forests of Penza, and each of the participants were allocated their roles in cells: scout, tactician, sapper, signaller and medic.
FSB stopped the activities of "the Network"* in the fall of 2017. The first verdict in the case "Network"* was issued in January 2019: a resident of St. Petersburg Igor Shishkin, pleaded guilty and signed a plea deal, was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison.
