More than 260 settlements of Ukraine remain flooded

Over 262 localities in four Ukrainian regions remain flooded as a result of flooding, destroyed 154 kilometers of roads, damaged the 172 bridge, said on Friday the press-service of the state service for emergency situations.

On Monday, the interior Ministry of Ukraine has introduced emergency security measures because of bad weather in Ivano-Frankivsk and Chernivtsi regions of the country. Heavy precipitation also affected the Lviv, Transcarpathian and Ternopil region. In the framework of the state service for emergency situations said that due to the bad weather, three people were killed and another was missing. The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine has asked the European Union and NATO to help in the aftermath of the flooding in the West country. The Prosecutor's office of Ivano-Frankivsk region opened a criminal case on the fact of massive illegal deforestation, which could lead to a massive flood.

"As of 7.00 a.m. (coincides with Moscow time) on June 26 remain de-energized seven localities in two areas. 262 settlements photoplan 7 731 house and 13 social domestic sphere. Destroyed 154 km of roads, 172 damaged bridge, flooded basement 553 4, 12 411 household plots", - said in a statement on the Agency's website.

It is noted that the elimination of consequences of bad weather involved 1 225 and 403 units of equipment, including two helicopters.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine at a meeting on Thursday allocated about $ 28 million for liquidation of consequences of floods in the Western part of the country, President Vladimir Zelensky arrived with a working trip in Ivano-Frankivsk region and will hold a meeting on liquidation of consequences of flooding.
