Patriarch Kirill took part in the Victory parade on red square
The Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill, along with other leaders and representatives of traditional religious confessions of Russia attended on Wednesday at the Victory parade on red square in Moscow, told RIA Novosti source in the Moscow Patriarchate.
He reminded that on June, 22nd, in Day of memory and grief, the Patriarch Kirill with the Russian President Vladimir Putin and defence Minister Sergei Shoigu visited the Patriarchal Cathedral in honor of Christ's Resurrection, the main Church of the Russian Armed forces and a Museum complex "Road of memory" in Moscow's military-Patriotic Park "Patriot".
In turn, the head of the Synodal Department of the Moscow Patriarchate on relations of the Church with society and mass-media Vladimir Legoyda said that the journalists, not seeing the Patriarch in the broadcast of the parade in the morning was called to check why it wasn't on the red square.
Wednesday, June 24, on the red square took place the parade dedicated to the 75-th anniversary of Victory in the great Patriotic war. In solemn procession have taken part about 15 thousand servicemen and over 200 pieces of equipment. The parade also passed the 250 cadet from the First Moscow cadet corps, who provided the all-Russian movement "Uname".
