The head of the chamber Alexei Kudrin called the proposed President of the Russian Federation, the adjustment of personal income tax, neat, stressing the importance for confidence and stability that this tax didn't change.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has proposed from 1 January 2021 to cancel the flat rate tax on incomes of physical persons (personal income tax) and to increase its rate from 13% to 15% for income over 5 million per year. He added that the funds from the increase in personal income tax are directed to the treatment of children with orphan diseases.

"The end of a flat scale of income tax. It was injected for the legalization of wages in the country. In the noughties, that helped a lot. The President proposed a neat adjustment - 15% of income above 5 million rubles a year," Kudrin wrote in his Twitter account.

He added that "the unpopularity of the tax increase kompensiruet a small increase in rates." "This adjustment is acceptable if this tax will no longer be changed, it is important for confidence and stability", - says the head of the accounting chamber.
