In the Yaroslavl region opened a case after the collapse of the bridge in April
Investigators in the Yaroslavl region opened a criminal case upon a collapse of a pedestrian bridge in the village Borisogleb, according to the website of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation.
Earlier, the representative of the emergency services in the region reported that on 22 April 2020 strong wind tore off two of the cable attachment of a pedestrian bridge across the river Mouth in Borisoglebsk area. According to him, as a result of breakage of the cables slipped, the bridge spans a length of 20 meters. In the accident nobody has suffered.
The iron pedestrian bridge across the river Mouth was built in 2015, its predecessor - built in 1970-ies the wooden bridge was destroyed in 2013 by a strong flood. At the opening ceremony along with then-Governor Sergey Jastrebova was attended by state Duma Deputy Valentina Tereshkova. It was reported that funds for the construction of the bridge was allocated from the regional and local budgets.
Authorities said that after a preliminary examination, the experts agreed on the impact on the design storm wind.
It is noted that the office of public Prosecutor of Borisoglebsky district of Yaroslavl oblast conducted an inspection on the fact of the collapse of the bridge. It turned out that the district administration has given permission for the operation of the bridge, although the conclusion of the state construction supervision on the safety of the facility were absent. In addition, the administration of the village has not developed the draft content of the bridge, which was to include the repair and monitoring of its safety.
"Investigation on criminal case as regards 1 article 293 of the criminal code of Russian Federation (negligence)", - stated in the message.
It is stressed that the district Prosecutor's office will monitor the progress and results of the investigation.
