Lukashenko urged to maintain peace and stability in Belarus
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko urged citizens to preserve the Republic, peace and stability, to unite to build a prosperous future.
As the press service of the President, Lukashenko on Monday called for Brest, where he held a meeting with local opposition.
"I'm a peaceful man, don't want to somehow destroy the peace and stability that exist today. Someone evaluates this stability like crazy, they say, so we do not need stability. Well, how could, how could, I am not alone, many of us have built this country, and she is there. Maybe others will do better, August 9, everything will be solved", - said the Belarusian leader, assuring that no fraud during the upcoming elections will not be.
Lukashenko called on all to unite in favor of the interests of the country and build a prosperous future. "You have children. Me. I want to live in a free and independent country. Enough of us to go, to be in sandals and under the whip. Let's we stand together and defend (the country)," he said.
He also noted that respectful of people, even if you don't share their views. According to Lukashenko, he did well in the Soviet times, and "the current democracy is learned not from books".
"There is a majority, it basically always solves. But there is a minority, to which we should listen. So do not think that you (the minority opinion) should be neglected. And I'm not flirting with you and not going to flatter you. I believe that every person has the right to Express their position", - Lukashenka said. At the same time, he stressed that it does not agree, if someone - whether a minority or a majority is aggressive.
Presidential elections will be held in Belarus on 9 August. At the meeting this Friday, Lukashenko, who is running for a sixth term, said that "intensified certain forces which begin to intensificate, rocking the situation in the country" and asked them to choose between democratic and military solutions to the situation. In this case, according to Lukashenko, the authorities managed to make some steps ahead and derail an ambitious plan to destabilize the country.
