The foreign Ministry revealed details of the negotiations with the United States in Vienna
Moscow and Washington on consultations in Vienna on strategic stability discussed extending the start Treaty-3, said Monday the Russian foreign Ministry.
Russian-American consultations on strategic stability issues on Monday ended in Vienna. The Russian delegation at the negotiations was headed by Deputy foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Ryabkov, us - Marshall Billingsley. The consultation lasted about ten hours.
"In accordance with the instructions of the two presidents continued to discuss the prospects of arms control, including the question of extending the start Treaty and the stability and predictability in the conditions of the termination of the INF Treaty, as well as in the composite dialogue for resolution of issues related to international security," - said the Russian foreign Ministry following the meeting.
Start-3 remains the only current agreement between Russia and the USA on the limitation of armaments. It will cease to operate after February 5, 2021. Russian President Vladimir Putin offered to extend the contract for five years without conditions.
