Suspected of treason ex-police officer faces up to 20 years in prison

Arrested on suspicion of treason in favor of Ukraine ex-to the chief of the district police Department in the Kursk region Dmitry Borzenkov faces a term of 12 to 20 years with a fine in the amount up to 500 thousand rubles or the salary or other income for a period up to three years.

As reported by RIA Novosti press Secretary of the Lefortovo court Xenia Pervoklashek, Borzenkov will remain in jail at least until August 18. According to intelligence, Borzenkov "were involved in confidential cooperation is one of the units" of the security Service of Ukraine and "collect and transmit the data making the state secret".

The police Department Zolotukhinskiy district of the Kursk region, which was led by Borzenkov, temporarily headed by his Deputy Ruslan Novikov told RIA news Agency. The representative of the Ministry of internal Affairs in the Kursk region said that the running procedure of employee's dismissal from internal Affairs agencies for negative reasons.

As wrote "Kommersant", Mikhailov in 2011 through intermediaries handed the FBI "information about operatively-search activity" in the case of the founder of the company Chronopay Pavel Vrublevsky, who U.S. authorities believe the cybercriminal. Along with them were convicted two other defendants on the 6th and 7th years of a colony respectively: the former employee of FSB Dmitry Dokuchaev and businessman George Fomchenkov.

Some convicted for treason reached the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. In 2017, the President pardoned the head of Sebastini, Annick Kesyan and Marina Gangava.
