Protection will appeal against the verdict to the defendants in the St. Petersburg business "Network"*

. Lawyers for the defendants in the St. Petersburg business "Network"* Victor Filinkova and Julia Bojarshinova, which the court today sentenced to 7 and 5.5 years of imprisonment, the appeal against the sentence.

"We will appeal the verdict due to the fact that when making a decision about the penalty was not applied the law regarding mitigating circumstances. We will seek commutation of the sentence", - told RIA Novosti lawyer Olga Krivonos Bojarshinova.

Defender Victor Filinkova the lawyer Vitaly Cherkasov also confirmed his intention to appeal the verdict, without specifying details.

Earlier it was reported that the Second sentence of the Western military district court Victor Filinkova sentenced to 7 years imprisonment for participating in a terrorist organization "Network"*, Yulia Bojarshinova to 5.5 years of imprisonment for participation in a terrorist organization "Network"* and illegal possession of explosives.

At court hearings Boyarshinov told about the formation of the St. Petersburg cell "Network"* the first time I met with participants from Penza in the summer of 2016. They conducted activities to self-defence, first aid, political issues discussed, the change of the political system and the use of violence to the authorities. Filinkov strongly denied the charges, claimed that during the arrest he was under pressure to get a confession. The court called on the testimony of four employees of the FSB, was interrogated by two people, and one of them said that Filinkov testified voluntarily.

The Volga district military court held a hearing in Penza on 10 February sentenced seven members of "the Network"* to the deprivation of liberty for terms of between six and 18 years in the colonies General and strict modes. The court found that until may 2015 Dmitry Pchelintsev and Ilya Sikorski in the Penza region created a terrorist community Network*, which brought together anarchists from different regions in the battle group, was aimed at violent change of the constitutional system of the Russian Federation and terrorist activities. Members of structural divisions "Network"* in the were residents of the Penza region Vasily Kuksov, Andrey Chernov, Mikhail Kulkov, max Ivankin and a resident of St. Petersburg Arman sagimbaev. The judges found that in 2015-2017 participants in the "Network"* has mastered the skills of combat training conducted in the abandoned camps and recreation in the Penza forests. Each of the participants were allocated their roles in cells: scout, tactician, sapper, signaller and medic.

FSB stopped the activities of "the Network"* in the fall of 2017. The first verdict in the case "Network"* was issued in January 2019: a resident of St. Petersburg Igor Shishkin, pleaded guilty and signed a plea deal, was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison.
