In Moscow started the action of "Line memory"
Action "Line memory" started in Moscow on the Crimean embankment, reports RIA Novosti.
At the Crimean embankment in the Park of arts "Muzeon" has gathered volunteers that are prepared to light candles at the memorial date of the great Patriotic war.
The first candle near the date of 22 June 1941 was lit by the head of the Moscow Department of culture Alexander Kibovsky, Moscow city Duma Deputy Yevgeny Gerasimov and the head of the Moscow Committee of public relations and youth policy Ekaterina Dragunov.
In the end, will create a "line" of 1418 installations, each of which symbolizes one day of the great Patriotic war and is a podium with an inscription and mounted with a candle.
The candle will burn up to 23.59 Monday, June 22.
Kibovsky told journalists that the action takes place in Moscow not the first year. He noted that everyone can find a memorial for the family. "I always put a candle on 14 January 1944, the day Sergeant intelligence 218 infantry regiment Ruslan Nikolaevich Kibovsky died a heroic death. For me and my family, this date is very important. And such date is every family. This is an opportunity on this sad day to pay tribute to the memory of those who never returned from the war," - said Kibovsky.
He noted that this year the event takes place, especially in connection with the pandemic.
"Traditionally, the first candle was lit, someone from the veterans, those veterans who took the first fight on 22 June 1941. Veterans every year more less and those, who took the fight then almost one. This year we decided to change the tradition with the consent of our veterans Committee, not to risk the health of our wonderful veterans," - said the head of the Moscow Department of culture.
In turn, the head of the Moscow Committee of public relations and youth policy Yekaterina Dragunova said that the venue for this action is chosen not casually.
"In 1941, in the night from 21 to 22 June in Moscow hosted the prom. Graduates walked through the Park. But at 4 in the morning war was declared. Until now, the culture Park is a favorite place of citizens. Today we cherish our veterans and ask them to come here," said Dragunov.
She noted that the candles of memory lit 170 volunteers, they will be on duty near the candles until morning.
