Hennig Kota, who served as Director of the project "Northern stream — 2", left the company Nord Stream AG 2, his place was taken by Marco Casorati, told RIA Novosti press-service of the company.
"Hennig Kota decided to leave the company 2 the Nord Stream AG for personal reasons in early June 2020. As the Director of the project he was replaced by Marco Casorati, who worked as over the "Nord stream — 2" and the "Northern stream" - the company said.
"Nord stream — 2" involves the construction of two pipelines with a total capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas off the coast of Russia through the Baltic sea to Germany. It implements the company 2 the Nord Stream AG with the sole shareholder - "Gazprom". European partners - Royal Dutch Shell, OMV, Engie, Uniper and Wintershall in total the project is financed by 50% that is worth up to EUR 950 million each. The remaining half of the funds to 4.75 billion euros - the share of "Gazprom".
Against the project actively advocate USA, in the EU promoting its liquefied natural gas, and Ukraine, fearing to lose the transit. States in December imposed sanctions against the project, demanding that the companies doing the laying of the pipeline, to stop it immediately. Swiss Allseas almost immediately announced the suspension of work.
