In the state Duma, Sobyanin proposed to install rumble strips on the Garden ring
A member of the Duma Committee on physical culture, sport, tourism and youth Affairs Dmitry Svishchev (LDPR) has suggested to the mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin after the accident with the actor Michael Efremov to install crash barriers on hazardous sections of the Garden ring road and, a copy of the letter is at RIA Novosti.
As noted Svishchev, in recent years, Moscow has successfully implemented a variety of solutions to reduce accidents on the roads. So, every year, the Centre for road traffic organisation together with the traffic police perform a set of tasks aimed at the elimination of accident-prone areas.
Citing statistics of the Ministry of internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, the Deputy wrote that for 2009-2019, the number of accidents related to driving on the oncoming traffic remains significant, exceeding 12,4 thousand cases per year.
Efremov on the evening of 8 June on the Garden ring in Moscow behind the wheel of a Jeep Grand Cherokee drove into the oncoming lane and collided with "Lada", which driver, courier online-shop Sergey Zakharov, died from his injuries in the hospital. The Moscow Prosecutor's office stated that the actor at the time of the accident was in a condition of alcoholic or narcotic intoxication. Efremov is under house arrest, for traffic violations committed in a state of intoxication and entailed on imprudence death of the person, to it threatens imprisonment for the term from five till 12 years.
