Lavrov: Russia and Serbia keep historical memory about the Second world war
Russia and Serbia together keep the anti-fascist tradition and historical memory about the Second world war, wrote to Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in the guest book of the memorial complex to the liberators of Belgrade.
"Eternal memory to Soviet and Yugoslav soldiers who fell in the struggle against Nazism. Russia and Serbia agree on the preservation of historical memory about the Second world war and anti-fascist traditions" - wrote the Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
Lavrov on June 18 on a visit to Serbia. Earlier, he met with the leadership of the country and laid flowers to the memorial of the liberators of Belgrade.
Belgrade was liberated from the Nazis in October 1944, as a result of joint actions of the Soviet troops and the people's liberation army of Yugoslavia.
