The attorney General has asked Poroshenko to release on personal recognizance

The Prosecutor General of Ukraine Iryna Venediktova has asked the Pechersky district court of Kiev to elect ex-President Petro Poroshenko a measure of restraint in the form of personal obligations in lieu of arrest, petition the court on Thursday was read by the Prosecutor.

Previously Poroshenko confirmed that the Pechersky district court of Kiev on Thursday will consider the petition for election to it measures of restraint. Later, the press service of the party of former head of state "European solidarity" said that the father of ex-President Oleksiy Poroshenko was dead. According to Ukrainian media reports, he suffered a stroke. According to Ukrainian media, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine sent to court the petition for postponement of court sessions due to the fact that Poroshenko will not be able to be there in connection with the funeral of his father.

"The Prosecutor General of Ukraine asks to apply to Poroshenko... the measure of restraint in the form of the personal obligation within the boundaries of the pre-trial period of investigation, i.e. until July 10, 2020", - said the Prosecutor.

Thus, according to the Prosecutor, the public Prosecutor asked court to impose on Poroshenko the following responsibilities: to come on the first call to the investigator and to the court, not to leave Kyiv without the permission of the investigator, Prosecutor or court, refrain from communicating with other suspects or witnesses to pass on the saving to the investigator's passport.

The Prosecutor noted that the attorney General decided to seek a milder measure of restraint, since the ex-President must go to Parliament and carry parliamentary duties, especially Poroshenko promised not to hide from the investigation and trial.

The state Bureau of investigations of Ukraine Poroshenko suspects that in 2018 he made holding then a post of the head of the foreign intelligence Service of Yegor God to appoint his Deputy Sergei Semochko - at that time the chief of the Kiev Department of security Service of Ukraine. Poroshenko and his lawyers refused to accept a suspicion they think he tried to give illegal.

In July 2018 Semochko was appointed first Deputy head of the foreign intelligence Service. Poroshenko in April 2019 fired Semochko.
