The Federation Council Committee on constitutional legislation has supported the proposal to reduce the new year holidays in 2021 as limiting the right of citizens to rest, reported RIA Novosti the Chairman of the Committee Andrey Klishas.
"The Federation Council Committee on constitutional legislation and state construction did not support the initiative on the reduction of the Christmas holidays in 2021 in order to compensate for non-working days in 2020 because of the situation with coronavirus infection, because it restricts the constitutional right to rest and violates the law of guarantee", - said the Agency Senator.
According to him, non-working days entered in the period of restrictive measures, unequal new year holidays.
"The obligation to work during the Christmas holidays as a compensation established for the period of the pandemic holidays is a violation of the constitutional right to rest and established by the legislation of safeguards regarding public holidays establishes differentiated legal regulation with respect to those workers who continued to carry out his labor activity that is not consistent with constitutional principles of equality and justice", - said Klishas.
