Russia's Ambassador in Minsk called upon the CIS countries to unite on the background COVID-19

Russian Ambassador in Belarus Dmitry Mezentsev called on CIS States to cohesion against the background of the pandemic coronavirus COVID-19, according to him, this situation "reshapes" external markets and forces, leaders of several countries in another way to articulate their interests, to achieve a "new positioning".

Mezentsev on Wednesday participated in the opening ceremony of the exhibition "Our common Victory" in the Belarusian state Museum of the great Patriotic war, it is dedicated to the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the great Victory. He also noted that the Commonwealth has a huge potential, including in terms of preserving the memory of the great Victory. For its part the first Deputy Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee Viktor Guminsky noted that for the peoples of the CIS countries, the memory of the past war is very sacred. "From the first days of the war the people of different Nations and nationalities unite in the fight against fascism. All had one goal - to stop the enemy. The courage and fortitude of our people became the main force that destroyed Nazism, which brought to mankind death and enslavement," said Huminski.

He noticed that this year has been declared in the Commonwealth the year of the 75th anniversary of Victory in the great Patriotic war. "The great legacy of Victory is not just our shared memory and our common history. The memory and history of blood-washed and won at the cost of millions of lives of the best sons and daughters without exception, all the peoples of the CIS. Our task the task of this generation is to not only preserve this great moral resource, but also to further strengthen the friendship between our countries and peoples", - said the first Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee.
