Lukashenko Zelensky invited to visit Belarus

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has sent his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky invitation to visit in October, Belarusian Grodno to participate in the forum of the regions of the two countries, said Tuesday the press service of the Belarusian Embassy in Kiev.

According to him, on Tuesday hosted a meeting of Ambassador of Belarus in Ukraine Igor Sokol, Deputy head of the office of the President of Ukraine Igor Zhovkva.

"The Ukrainian side handed over the invitation of President of the Republic of Belarus A. G. Lukashenko to the President of Ukraine V. A. Zelensky to visit Belarus with an official visit in 2020 and to participate in the III Forum of regions", - stated in the message.

The press service noted that the meeting in Kyiv discussed the state and prospects of development of Belarusian-Ukrainian cooperation in trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres, as well as preparations for the Forum of regions of Belarus and Ukraine, which will take place in October in Grenoble. In addition, the parties discussed the results of implementation of agreements at the highest level after the meeting of presidents of Belarus and Ukraine in Zhytomyr on 4 October 2019.

According to the report, for the President of Ukraine and his wife Helena also transferred to the Belarusian shirts as a return gift from the President.

"Sent for the occasion the message the address of the President of Ukraine the head of state warmly noted that the Belarusian embroidered shirt "emphasizes the peculiarity and cultural relationship and proximity of our peoples", and also expressed the wish that the embroidery was "a talisman and sign of the deep friendship between the Belarusians and Ukrainians", - stated in the message.

Zelensky previously passed through the Ambassador of Ukraine in Minsk embroidery – gift Lukashenko in connection with the celebration of the Ukrainian vyshyvanka day, which was celebrated in may.
