"United Russia" announced the candidates for the gubernatorial elections-2020
"United Russia" will put forward on elections of the Governor's 2020 candidacy of Ivan Belozertseva (Penza oblast), Alexander Drozdenko (Leningrad region), Vasily Golubev (Rostov oblast), Natalia Komarova (Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug) and Yuri Bezdolnogo (Nenets Autonomous Okrug), according to Secretary of General Council of United Russia Andrei Turchak.
The single voting day this year is scheduled for September 13.
"The party has proved time and again that they are ready to take responsibility in difficult situations, take the necessary decisions and subsequently implement them. As governors, whose nominations we are today at the meeting of the Presidium of the General Council are considering," said Turchak.
He explained that the EP plans to vote for the candidacy of Ivan Belozertseva (Penza oblast), Alexander Drozdenko (Leningrad region), Vasily Golubev (Rostov oblast), Natalia Komarova (Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug) and Yuri Deserted (Nenets Autonomous Okrug).
The Presidium of the General Council of the EP endorsed the decision to support candidates.
Turchak also reported that the EP has decided to support in the upcoming gubernatorial election independents Igor Kobzev (Irkutsk oblast), Oleg Nikolaev (Yakutia), Vladimir Solodov (Kamchatka Krai), Vladimir Uibi (Komi Republic) and Dmitry Makhonina (Perm Krai).
Last week the EP had already adopted a decision to support nine candidates for Governor in elections this year. Among the candidates supported by the party, - the acting Governor of the Arkhangelsk region Alexander tsybulskiy, the Governor of the Bryansk region Vladimir Bogomaz, acting head of the Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhaev, acting head of the Jewish Autonomous region Rostislav Goldstein, the acting Governor of the Kaluga region Vladislav Shapsha, head of the Tambov region Alexander Nikitin, President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. They are all members of the EP. In addition, the party will support two independent candidates - Governor of Kostroma region Sergey Sitnikov and the head of Krasnodar Krai Veniamin Kondratiev.
