Thus, according to Pushkov, the German foreign Minister raises the question more broadly. He noted that there was a shift, and prepared US for the allies, the doctrine of "limited sovereignty" is no longer perceived as something absolute.

The Senator recalled that the German foreign Ministry declared extraterritorial US sanctions unacceptable. Also according to Pushkov, a Deputy of the Bundestag accused the United States policy of hegemony, the other in "double standards" as the U.S. "buy oil from the Russians."

At the end of 2019, the United States adopted defence budget for 2020. It provided for sanctions against the gas pipeline "Nord stream — 2" and "Turkish stream". Germany criticized these limitations.

"Nord stream — 2" involves the construction of two pipelines with a total capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas off the coast of Russia through the Baltic sea to Germany. The bill was opposed by US, Ukraine and several European countries.
