In Ukraine announced the dismantling of the Gazprom pipes for transit

"Gazprom" began the dismantling of pipes for gas transit through Ukraine, said the head of the operator GTS Sergey Makogon in an interview with OilPoint.

According to him, the transit will soon disappear as a revenue source for the Ukrainian budget.

"That "Gazprom" has begun to dismantle the pipes on its territory, in which the gas is supplied to the border with Ukraine is a problem, but we sway especially can not," said Makogon.

He stressed that Kyiv does not waive the transit, and to arrest it committed the Russian company. In the event of termination of supplies via Ukraine, added Makogon, the operator GTS will have to contract and work on the domestic market.

At the end of last year Russia and Ukraine agreed on a package of agreements on transit. A five-year contract envisages pumping 65 billion cubic meters of gas in the first year and 40 billion cubic meters in the remaining four years.

In addition, the parties agreed to settlement of legal disputes and signed an agreement for waiver of claims for which the court has not yet made a final decision. Gazprom paid Naftogaz $ 2.9 billion, as requested by the verdict of the Stockholm arbitration. In turn, the Ukrainian company renounced claims to the Russian company for $ 7.4 billion.

In Kiev has repeatedly stressed that the implementation of the project "Northern stream – 2" will put an end to the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine. In April makohon said that the Ukrainian side will make every effort to prevent the completion of the pipeline.
